CULT
(Critical Understanding of Liturgies & Traditions)
CULT is a new, student-run RSO at the University of Chicago. Our focus is on creating an open space for academic discourse about the philosophy, beliefs, sociology, history and political roles of different religions.
To accomplish this, we will hold a variety of events each quarter under the umbrella of a particular theme. For spring quarter, our proposed theme is 'conflict and religion,' but in future quarters, board members will decide on the theme--which could be anything from 'sin' to 'burial practices.' We are also planning to hold discussions, themed study breaks, panels, coffee chats and a variety of other events.
